Anca has been actively working as a fitness and health professional for more than 20 years. She has been working alongside many great gold medal athletes at the Olympic Center in Hannover- Germany. After she finished her Sport and Science degrees in 2000, her ambition was to own and operate a Sports Rehab Center. Anca specialized in sports injuries and proper recovery and has been running her company for 15 years before moving to the USA. She discovered the sport of triathlon after deciding to join a friend at a Playtri race, Luck of the Irish, in 2016. To her surprise, she secured a podium spot at the race and was instantly attached to the fantastic community. After multiple local races in 2017, she started coaching at the Playtri Performance Center in McKinney. Today she is working for Playtri as a Director at Playtri Performance Center - a multi-discipline facility that provides for all Playtri athletes with expertise, knowledge, and experienced coaches.
Her biggest goal as a coach is to set you up for success! She wants to make sure that your training fits into your lifestyle and provides the balance that you need to juggle all of your commitments and interests.
Her training focuses on educating the athlete, so he/she has the tools to succeed both in practice and on race day. Anca is very data-driven in how she analyzes your workouts but also relies heavily on your workout comments to understand the bigger picture of any day's training. By providing structured training, making sure athletes understand the "why" of the training approach, and using qualitative and quantitative measurement and feedback to assess each workout execution, she assures the best chance for success on race day.
